Position Summary
Responsible for the care of live product from time they are loaded onto truck until they reach their destination. This individual is to be courteous at all times, drive in a defensive and courteous manner, representing Longenecker’s Hatchery well. Responsible for the proper care of all company-owned property.
Main Responsibilities
-
live bird hauling consisting of CDL A, B and non-CDL vehicles
-
hauling supplies for chicken house set-up
-
chick delivery and/or egg pick-up/pullet moving
Qualifications Needed
-
class A CDL with good driving record
-
current medical examiner's certificate (DOT Physical Card)
-
authorized to cross state lines
-
able to be courteous and professional at all times
-
pre-employment drug testing
Essential Job Functions

consistent and reliable attendance

pre-trip and post-trip inspection – assuring the safety of the vehicle

loading the correct amount of cargo onto the truck

responsible for the proper care of the chicks/birds/eggs while in transit

maintaining a clean and orderly vehicle and informing Manager of vehicle problems

maintaining a neat and clean personal appearance
-
maintaining a proper company image on highway and on the farms
-
observing delivery or pickup problems relating to you or the chicks or chickens and reporting to management
-
following all driving laws and regulations
-
able to properly complete and turn in paperwork
-
ability to work while sitting, standing, squatting, and kneeling
-
able to handle flexible hours
-
able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

other duties as assigned
Hours

scheduled departure times are posted for current week and two future weeks

Monday through Friday

8 to 12 hours per day

overtime over 40 hours at 1.5X
